The Cotabato Electric Cooperative, Inc. (COTELCO) respects your privacy and we are committed to protect the information you shared with us. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information.

 

INFORMATION WE COLLECT:

The following information will be collected from Consumers:

1. For applicants for new electrical connections: Name, Address, Date of Birth, Marital Status, Religion, contact number and email, address;
2. For Member- Consumers: Name, Address, Account Numbers, contact numbers and email address;
3. For suppliers, contractors: Sole Proprietorship: Name, Complete Address, Tax Identification Number, Business Permits, DTI Registration, BIR Registration, proof of electronic filing and payment system with the BIR, Proof of deposit of performance bond, contact numbers and email address.
4. For applicants for employment and other stakeholders: Name, Date of Birth, Complete Address, Contact Number, Email Address, Educational Attainment and Religion.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

The information we collect from you will be used for the following purposes:

1. Providing and managing your electric service status;
2. Processing bill payments and other transactions;
3. Responding to customer service request;
4. Communicating with you about your account and services;
5. In order to improve our services and infrastructures; and
6. In compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

TO WHOM ARE WE GOING TO SHARE YOUR INFORMATION:

We may share your information with:

1. Service providers and contractors who will perform services in our behalf;
2. Government Authorities and regulatory agencies as required by law;
3. Authorized collecting agencies for payments of electric bills;
4. Other parties with your consent or upon your instruction/ direction.

HOW ARE WE GOING TO PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION?

To protect your personal information, hereunder are measures that we will implement:

1. Secure storage system;
2. Encryption of sensitive personal information;
3. Access control to ensure only authorized personnel can access your information;
4. Use of firewall device.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AS DATA SUBJECT:

We value you, so we want you to know your rights as data subject and these rights are:

1. Information: You have the right to be informed whether your personal data shall be, are being or have been processed;
2. Access: You can request access to the personal information we hold about you;
3. Rectify/Correction: You can request for correction of inaccurate/ incomplete personal information we have collected from you;
4. Erasures and blocking: You have the right to request for suspension, withdrawal, blocking, removal, destruction of your personal data from us;
5. Damages: when you suffer due to inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, false, unlawfully obtained or unauthorized use of personal data, taking into account any violation of your right as data subject
6. Right to data portability:  You have the right to obtain from us a copy of your personal data or have the same be transmitted to another Personal Information Controller in an electronic or structured format that is commonly used.
7. Right to file a complaint: If you feel your personal information has been misused, maliciously disclosed or improperly disposed or any of your data privacy rights has been violated, you have the right to file a complaint at the National Privacy Commission.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY NOTICE

COTELCO may update this Privacy Notice from time to time and we will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new notice on our website and COTELCO premises (Main office and area offices).
