At least 53 boys from age bracket 10-16 years old were successfully circumcised for free during the ‘’Operation Tuli’’ conducted on May 10, 2018 at Barangay Estado Matalam, North Cotabato.
The activity was sponsored by the Cotabato Electric Cooperative Inc. thru its Multi-Sectoral Electrification Advisory Council (MSEAC) in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Matalam and the medical team from
the Department of Health based in LGU Matalam.
The said operation tuli is still in line with the celebration of the 46th Foundation Anniversary of COTELCO this coming May 16, 2018 and part of the Cooperative Social Responsibility of MSEAC Matalam under the watch of Board of Director Marilyn Padios of District 3 Matalam. Apart from free circumcision, they were also
given free medicines for the healing of the operation to the boys.
Accordingly, circumcision is done for easier hygiene, decreased risk of urinary tract infections, sexually
transmitted infections and penile cancer as well as prevention of penile problems.
